You know those recipes that end up tasting like chemicals or cardboard? The ones people promote and say "it tastes just like the real thing" and then you go and taste it and it's freaking gross and tastes nothing like the original?
Well, this isn't one of those recipes.
This one actually tastes amazing!
We still suggest to use sparingly if you have diabetes, insulin resistance, or any sugar sensitivity. Enjoy every once in a while but don't go nuts on this one. Used sparingly, most people can still stay in keto with this or keep it very low-carb without blood sugar spikes.
Although the nutrition facts state that this recipe has 5g carbs and 5g of fiber which would put the item at 0g net carbs, we have done some blood sugar testing after eating this on some people and it does create a slight blood sugar spike on some people. So if you are really taking care of your blood sugar, I would suggest you actually test your blood sugar after eating this to see if it is a good alternative for you.
If you are just trying to reduce your sugar intake in general, this is a fantastic substitute! Way better for you than regular maple syrup.
Oh, and it's so darn simple, you can probably make it with your eyes closed.
Without further ado here is the recipe:
Mix together and enjoy!
